Podcasts for 2012!

Hello to all our visitors and subscribers!  I apologize that last year we did not do any podcasting.   However, I now have two sophomore English classes that will podcast in spring of next year.  (Our school recently went to period scheduling.)

Just a quick tech note to share.  Last spring, three of my AP Literature and Composition classes created a book profile for The Poisonwood Bible on Book Drum.  This is newsworthy, because we were the first large collaborative group OR group of students to create one (usually, they are made by individuals).

In their final podcast discussion, Ashley  sees the foreshadowing in the crab's missing leg (page 200),  Emily wonders how the book gives insight into Chinese culture (especially compared to American culture), Rachel shows a bit of "contempt" for the end of the story, Chris has an Aha! about the unlucky glass at the edge of the bed (and begins a discussion on what is unlucky in different cultures), and Zak illustrates an unusual old woman below.

In their final podcast discussion, Emma is our "venerable" vocabulary enricher,  Isaac connects to a true personal story of when his grandfather picked up a hitchhiker, Megan infers Capote is using humor to show the obliviousness of Dick and Perry when they are being followed by a police car (and her investigation turns up the Clutter Memorial Plaque, pictured at the website below) , Steven wonders if Dick and Perry deserved the death penalty, and Emily has an Aha! about Perry's squirrel.
